These quantities are approximate and may vary according to several factors, including: age, breed, temperament, activity levels, climate, and temperature, among others. Therefore, they must be adjusted to maintain the animal at its optimal weight. As a guide, the daily ration will be between 1 and 1.5% of the animal's weight.

It should be given dry, along with clean, fresh water freely available.
