- 100% American Red Elm Bark: gently dried and ground
It is composed of long-chain sugar molecules, also called polysaccharides, which form a viscous mass when they come into contact with water. This deposits as a layer on the inner wall of the stomach and intestines, and can thus naturally support the gastrointestinal tract of dogs and cats. Especially after stressful situations such as diarrhea and vomiting, elm bark helps your dog and cat to recover.
Elm bark for your furry friend, a natural support for the gastrointestinal tract
In one study, numerous dogs were treated with a syrup made from elm bark. After a few days of application, a significant improvement was observed after episodes of diarrhea and vomiting. It has been shown that elm bark contributed to a harmonization of gastric and intestinal activity in these animals.
Elm bark for cats, a help in the digestion of hairballs
Another study showed that elm bark can promote mucus production in the gastrointestinal tract of cats, so that swallowed hairballs in cats cannot get tangled and pass through the intestines more easily. If swallowed hairs are not excreted immediately, elm bark has anti-inflammatory and soothing properties on the mucous membranes of cats.
For thousands of years, the inner bark of the elm has been used by indigenous people in various ways, such as to support the gastrointestinal tract.
AniForte® Elm Bark is made from 100% American red elm bark, carefully dried and ground. This results in a pure natural product, perfectly adapted to the needs of the animal, thanks to high quality standards. In terms of taste, elm bark is very well accepted by both dogs and cats.
